Frequently asked questions

Android or Windows mobile computer: which should I choose?
Most current mobile computers run Android, and Microsoft has ended support for Windows CE and Windows Embedded Handheld. Android also has a wider choice of warehouse apps. If your software was written for older Windows devices, we help you assess the move to Android.
Will the mobile computer work with my 1C?
Yes, Poson connects mobile computers to 1C. Our engineers install the mobile app, set up data exchange with 1C and test processes such as receiving or stocktaking. The scope depends on your 1C configuration and is set out in the quote.
What protection rating does a mobile computer need?
For warehouses and logistics, choose models rated IP65 or IP67 with a solid drop specification. For cold stores, also check the operating temperature range. For shop-floor work, a lighter housing may be enough.
Can you set up mobile computers at our site?
Yes, Poson engineers come to your site. They connect the devices to your Wi-Fi network, install the app, set up data exchange with 1C and train your staff on the spot. The visit date and scope are agreed in the quote.
Will the battery last a full shift?
It depends on battery capacity (mAh), scanning intensity, screen brightness and temperature. For multi-shift work, choose models with a removable battery, ideally with hot-swap so the device stays on during the change. We help you plan spare batteries and charging cradles in advance.
Can I print labels directly from a mobile computer?
Yes, the mobile computer connects to a mobile label printer over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. This is handy for replacing shelf labels, relabelling in the warehouse and on delivery routes. Poson pairs the printer with the mobile computer and sets up printing from your app.
